Work From Home
As the haze blanket thickens in Singapore, an increasing number of locally-based companies are beginning to take preventive measures aimed at safeguarding the health of their employees.
While PSI levels remained in the unhealthy range for most of the week, air quality worsened drastically to a high of PSI 321 on Wednesday night, and then peaked at PSI 371 at 1pm on Thursday. Since late last week, the city-state has been plagued by a haze caused by forest fires on Indonesia's Sumatra island.

"The health risks posed by the haze have led us to close the Singapore Flyer for the time being to protect staff members, many of whom work outdoors," said Mr Tim Reid of Ferrier Hodgson. "We will reassess the situation tomorrow morning, and the Flyer will reopen as soon as pollution levels drop to a safe level."

Free MRT Rides
Commuters who are catching Singapore's first free MRT train rides from June 24 onwards won't just get free rides, they will also receive free drinks.
250,000 cans of Red Bull Less Sugar will be given out by Red Bull Singapore at Chevron House, outside Raffles Place MRT from June 24 to 26.
Commuters can collect the drinks between 7am and 8am, as well as between 12 noon and 2pm on these dates.

Mustafa's Condo

Graduating O-level students interested in studying film now have another option open to them.
Starting next year, the School of the Arts (Sota) will offer film as an international baccalaureate (IB) subject to outside students.
SIM-RMIT
Some 2,000 degree students at RMIT University did not get their exam results on Thursday amid a dispute with Australia's National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU).
The union has banned the release of the results, which had been scheduled for yesterday, after failing to come to an agreement with the university about academic pay and employment.
There are about 6,000 students in the three- year Singapore Institute of Management-RMIT programme. RMIT believes around 2,000 students are missing at least one result.

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of a 9-year-old boy on Saturday night.

Peeping Tom from Temasek Polytechnic
The teen wore a blonde female wig and sneaked into a women's toilet at Temasek Polytechnic (TP), allegedly taking pictures of the girls there.
But as he tried to leave the toilet, he was confronted by a group of seven girls, two of whom subdued him and pinned him to the wall.
Security was alerted and the teen apprehended. The incident happened on Friday.
The New Paper understands that he is an 18-year-old first-year student from the business process and systems engineering course at TP.
Bicycle Sharing in Moscow
One of the world's least cycle-friendly cities, Moscow, will on Saturday launch its first bicycle sharing scheme allowing residents to pedal around for free and escape the traffic gridlock.
The scheme, similar to those already in place in cities such as London and Paris, will start on a modest scale with 1,000 bicycles placed at 50 stands around the city centre.

An asteroid nearly two miles (three kilometers) wide is set to pass by Earth Friday with no risk of impact, offering scientists a rare chance to study a massive flying object with its own moon.
Asteroid 1998 QE2 will make its closest approach to Earth at 4.59pm (20.59 GMT), at a distance of 3.6 million miles (5.8 million kilometers), or about 15 times the distance between Earth and the moon, the US space agency said.
"This is the closest approach the asteroid will make to Earth for at least the next two centuries," NASA said.
