Pho

Vietnamese noodle: A cultural pho-nomenon. Pho, a simple soup of beef broth, herbs, spices and rice noodles, emerged in north Vietnam some 100 years ago. It has since acquired a global following. It is beloved by French celebrity chefs and cash-strapped American students alike.
