Citi Clear Card
In July 2010 my child applied for the Citi Clear visa card for tertiary students upon seeing an online advertisement. When we collected and submitted the application form at Citibank Bugis branch, we were told that we would get a $10 Cafe Cartel voucher upon approval of the application. We received the card soon after but without the voucher as promised. We made many unrecorded calls to Citibank hotline in August and September and we were told that the voucher was on its way. We lodged formal complaints at Citibank Bedok and Citibank Orchard MRT in October and December respectively. Once again we were promised that the voucher was on its way. Then we were told that the voucher was only for those who had applied for the Citi Clear card online. We scrutinised the online application form. There was no clause at all which states that we need to apply online in order to get the voucher. We received a call during the last week of December informing us that the voucher was on its way. Does it take more than 6 months for a mail to reach a local address? If Citibank cannot fulfil its promise of a $10 voucher, can we trust it with our investments?
What a shame, BBQ. Shame on them!
ReplyDeleteShame on them, indeed, BBQ. :)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't cancelled our CitiBank card yet but we are thinking about it. They added a 'minimum interest charge' for people who pay the card off. Drat!
Makes you wonder doesn't it? ~ j///b
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! Sure makes you wonder, doesn't it? It's quite typical though: you owe them something and they jump through hoops to make you pay, but when they owe you something it almost takes an act of congress to get it. Sigh.

God's Grace.
