Explosion in Waco, Texas

A fiery explosion ripped through a fertilizer plant near Waco, Texas, on Wednesday night and damaged or destroyed numerous buildings including a school and nursing home, and hundreds of people were likely injured in the blast, authorities said.


Some 60 to 70 people were killed by an explosion at a fertilizer plant outside Waco, Texas, KWTX news reported, citing the local emergency manager.
The report could not be immediately verified by AFP, but KWTX cited West EMS director George Smith as confirming the death toll.
