Festive periods can be a difficult time for the elderly without kin, like former seamstress Madam Chow Luen (above, left).
The 83-year-old has been living on her own since her only relative, an uncle, died more than a decade ago.
She says if not for volunteer Catherine Ong (above, right), 71, “life would not be worth living”.
